Day 1
Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.
Standing
Attribution: This game was originally created by coach Rob Coale: Ecopalooza Video.
Attacking Player:
- Position: Standing behind your partner, with your arms around their torso, your hands not yet connected.
- Objective: Connect your hands around the torso or a leg.
- Constraints: No takedowns.
- Win Condition: Your hands connected around your partners torso or their leg.
Defending Player:
- Position: In front of your partner, they have their arms around your torso. You are covering their knuckles with your hands and holding their hands, to prevent them from connecting their hands.
- Objective: Disconnect, turn to face.
- Constraints: No takedowns.
- Win Condition: Disconnected from your partner and facing them.

- Win Condition: Disconnected from your partner and successfully reattacked with a closed connection of your own.
Guard
Top Player:
- Position: On your knees with your partner's legs around your torso and their feet hooked behind you.
- Objective: Break your partner's grips and control of your upper body and arms.
- Constraints: Do not attempt to open or pass your partner's guard. Do not stand.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back with your legs wrapped around your partner's torso with your feet hooked together behind them.
- Objective: Create meaningful connection with your partner and use it to control their posture. Do not let them gain an upright posture.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Your hips are connected to your partner's shoulder outside of their arms.
Reset if bottom player wins.
Top Player:
- Position: Standing with one of your partner's feet connected to one of your legs.
- Objective: Use hands to keep your partner's connections broken and your feet free.
- Constraints: Stay as close to your partner as possible.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: Lying on your back with one knee retracted to your chest and elbows in. One leg should be extended with the foot connected to one of your partner's legs.
- Objective: Keep your feet between you and your partner. Make and maintain connections to the inside of your partner's legs using your hands and feet.
- Constraints: No sweeps allowed
- Win Condition: None
This game is continuous.
Pinning/Passing
Top Player:
- Position: On top of your partner with one knee on your partner's torso and your opposite leg extended out to the side.
- Objective: Maintain your position. You do not need to stay in the starting, and can transition from one side to the other.
- Constraints: You cannot touch your partner or the ground with your hands.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back underneath your partner with one of their knees on your torso and their hands connected to your upper body.
- Objective: Focus on freeing yourself from your partner's pin by blocking their leg and moving your body from underneath it.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Free yourself from the pin by removing their leg from your torso or reversing the position.
Reset if bottom player wins.
Top Player:
- Position: On top of your partner with one knee on your partner's torso and your opposite leg extended out to the side. Your hands should be connected to your partner's upper body to help
- Objective: Maintain your position.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back underneath your partner with one of their knees on your torso and their hands connected to your upper body.
- Objective: Focus on freeing yourself from your partner's pin by blocking their leg and moving your body from underneath it.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: You have freed yourself from the pin by removing their leg from your torso.
Reset if bottom player wins.
6 Minute Round
Live round with a partner. Start standing if you are able to do so safely. Otherwise pick the starting position from one of the previous games and start there. Roll to submission, reset, and continue. Repeat as many times as possible before the round ends.
