Simple Foot Sweeps

Attribution: This game is based on a Seminar posted by coach Greg Souders at Standard Jiu-Jitsu.

Attacking Player:

  • Position: The defending player has one of their arms under your armpit. You wrap the attacking arm with your arm.
  • Objective: Move your partner around using your hands, while keeping the overhook. Seek foot-to-foot contact.
  • Constraints: Only Foot Sweeps.
  • Win Condition: Your partner falls to the ground.

Defending Player:

  • Position: One arm under the armpit of the attacking player. Your hand hands either on their near shoulder, far shoulder, or on their far hip side.
  • Objective: Get your hands connected around your partner’s body anywhere below the armpits.
  • Constraints: No takedowns.
  • Win Condition: Connected hands.
